From an “emophoto,” to an old photo, as today’s Daily Create challenge revolved around taking any photograph we could find, and using Photoshop to make it look older than it actually was. For my choice of photographs, I went with a picture of the New York city skyline from 1997, including the original World Trade Center towers, and used black-and-white filtering to make it look like the “Twin Towers” were already fading into the clouds. Considering that the new One World Trade Center opened for business this past November, that may be a less figurative description than first thought. In a sense, the moral of the story this photo tells me is that, sooner or later, everything old will be new again. What we think we can never let go of, will return in a way we won’t expect, but we’ll still enjoy all the same.
